Small rugs

Our small rugs, under 160 cm wide, are far more strategic than people tend to think. Far from being minor accessories, they target precisely the areas where you need them: in front of the sink, at the foot of the bed, in a compact entrance hall, as a baby play rug or as a decorative focal point. Chosen well, they often prove more useful day to day than a large rug in the wrong place.

When is a small rug the right choice?

Small sizes answer very specific needs:

• In front of the sink in the kitchen: comfort when standing, and protection for the floor
• Just inside the front door in the hallway: it catches the dirt and gives a welcome
• Bedside runners in the bedroom: one or two at the sides, in 60×100 or 80×150
• In front of the shower or basin: absorbent and non-slip
• Baby play rug: a 120 cm round rug that is comfortable and safe
• As a decorative accent: a colourful focal point in an otherwise understated room

• 60×100 cm: the universal small size, endlessly versatile
• 80×150 cm: the "XL doormat" size, or for a small entrance
• 100×100 cm: a small square for an armchair corner
• 120 cm rounds: reading corners and play rugs

Materials to favour

Small rugs often end up in busy areas or in demanding spots (damp, dirt). The materials we recommend:

• Polypropylene: hard-wearing, and cleans up with a sponge
• Rugs that are machine washable: ideal for the kitchen, the hallway and the bathroom
• Cotton: for small bathroom rugs (absorbent) or lightweight decorative designs

Styling tips

A small rug in the right place can transform a room. Several small rugs spread through a space create a visual rhythm that feels very modern. Be bold with strong colours in a small size: the risk is limited and the decorative impact is at its highest.
