Our made-to-measure rugs

The made-to-measure rug rests on a simple idea: rather than adapting your home to a set size, the rug fits your space. We offer two kinds: hallway and stair runners cut to your length, and Berber rugs handmade in Morocco to your exact size, to the centimetre.

Cut to length: hallway and stair runners

Our hallway and stair runners are ordered in the size you want. First you choose the width, from 60 to 150 cm depending on the design, then the length that suits your space, in 10 cm steps up to 5 metres, then in 50 cm steps up to 10 metres. Each rug is then cut to order and delivered ready to lay. You only pay for the length you choose, with no excess to fold under.

Made to your size: the handmade Berber rug

For a living room, bedroom, or entrance hall, our Berber rugs are hand-knotted or hand-woven in Morocco from sheep's wool. You enter the width and length to the centimetre: from 100 x 150 cm to 400 x 600 cm for a room rug, and from 60 to 120 cm wide and up to 6 metres long for a hallway or staircase. The price appears straight away on the product page. Your rug is made after you order and delivered within 3 weeks.

The continuous stair runner, for a boutique hotel look

On a staircase, the idea is a continuous runner: one long rug that runs down in a single piece, following every step. It is the classic, traditional solution, known for its timeless elegance. It creates the sought-after "boutique hotel" look, unifies the staircase, and draws the eye.

A continuous runner works particularly well on straight staircases and staircases with one or two landings. On staircases with pronounced curves, fitting calls for finer adjustment by a professional, but it is still perfectly achievable.

Which styles to choose?

Hallways and staircases are places you pass through without lingering, so you can be bolder with stronger patterns than in a living room. Dense oriental patterns and faded vintage designs bring sought-after character to period homes. In a living room or bedroom, an ecru Berber rug in the Beni Ouarain style brings softness, while a graphic or chequerboard Berber rug adds character.

The material, depending on use

Our hallway and stair runners are woven in polypropylene, a fibre that is resistant to daily foot traffic and easy to care for, and that keeps its good looks over time. Most are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the guarantee of a textile tested free from substances harmful to health. Our Berber rugs are made of hand-knotted or hand-woven sheep's wool, a dense, warm material that stands up well to foot traffic. Day to day, vacuuming is all they need, without a rotating brush for the Berber rugs.

Fitting on a staircase

On a staircase, holding the runner in place is essential. It must be securely fixed to every step with stainless steel staples under the nosing, special adhesive, or metal stair rods (the most decorative option). Choose a clearly visible edge and avoid very dark tones on a poorly lit staircase, so you do not miss a step. For a flawless finish, calling in a professional is still the safest option.

Strategic colours

These busy spaces are bound to show a few marks over time. To disguise them for good:

  • Mid to dark tones: anthracite grey, dark taupe, navy blue, and burgundy
  • Dense patterns: oriental, vintage, or geometric, which naturally hide wear
