Our made-to-measure Berber rugs
A Berber rug is recognisable by its thick sheep's wool, its freehand motifs and its slight irregularities. Ours are knotted one by one on a cotton warp, in Morocco.
At Casemira, every rug is made to order: you give the exact width and length, from 100 x 150 cm to 400 x 600 cm, and the rug is knotted to those measurements.
You choose the fringes on the product page: on both ends, on one end or none, at the same price.
To find your way, browse by style (Beni Ouarain style, Azilal style, Boujad style, graphic, striped) or by colour, from white to terracotta.
For hallways, our Berber runner rugs come in widths from 60 to 120 cm and lengths of up to 600 cm.
Free delivery, free returns for 30 days and the option to pay in instalments.
Choosing your Berber rug
How does ordering a made-to-measure rug work?
How does ordering a made-to-measure rug work?
On the product page, enter the width and length in centimetres. The price updates instantly for those exact dimensions. Then choose your fringes and check out as you would for any other rug.
Your rug is then knotted to your measurements and shipped. Allow 3 weeks between your order and delivery, which is free. You can also pay in instalments.
A tip: measure the room or the area you want to cover, then mark the outline on the floor with masking tape to picture the size before you order. It is the simplest way to avoid a rug that turns out too small.
Why might my rug differ slightly from the photo?
Why might my rug differ slightly from the photo?
Every rug is hand-knotted to order. The photo shows the reference piece: yours follows the same design and the same colours, but it remains a unique piece. A few differences are therefore normal:
- lines that are slightly less straight, or motifs slightly offset;
- pile density that varies from one area to another;
- shades of wool that change from one batch to the next;
- a layout of the pattern adapted to your dimensions.
These variations are the mark of handwork. If the rug is not right for you, returns are free for 30 days.
How do I care for a wool Berber rug?
How do I care for a wool Berber rug?
Sheep's wool is a hard-wearing fibre that needs only simple care:
- vacuum on suction only, without a rotating brush, once or twice a week;
- if something spills, blot it straight away with a clean, dry cloth, without rubbing;
- no washing machine and no steam cleaner: for a thorough clean, take the rug to a professional.
In the first few weeks, small fluff balls appear: this is shedding, which is normal for new wool. It decreases as you vacuum over time. It is also worth turning the rug round once or twice a year so that foot traffic wears it evenly.
