The made-to-measure rug rests on a simple idea: instead of fitting your home around a set size, the rug fits your space. Cut to the exact dimensions of your corridor or your staircase, it brings these overlooked circulation areas to life and softens the sound of footsteps. How made-to-measure works

Our hallway and stair runners are ordered at the size you want: first you choose the width, then the length that matches your space, up to 10 metres. Each rug is then cut to order and delivered ready to lay. You pay only for the size you genuinely need, with no excess to fold under.

The continuous stair runner, for that boutique hotel look

On a staircase, the principle is the continuous runner: one long rug that flows down in a single piece, following every step. It is the classic historic solution, prized for its timeless elegance. It creates the "boutique hotel" effect everyone is after, unifies the staircase and draws the eye.

A continuous runner suits straight staircases and staircases with one or two landings particularly well. On stairs with pronounced curves, fitting calls for finer adjustment by a professional, but it remains perfectly achievable.

Which styles to choose?

Hallways and staircases are places you pass through rather than linger in, so you can be bolder with stronger patterns than in a living room. Dense oriental motifs and faded vintage designs bring sought-after character to a period home. For a contemporary interior, modern, geometric or plain styles in grey or deep beige stay very elegant.

Our made-to-measure rugs are woven in 100% polypropylene, a fibre that is resistant to daily footfall and easy to look after, and that keeps its good looks over the years. Many designs are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, your guarantee of a textile tested free from substances harmful to health. Day to day, a quick pass with the vacuum is all it takes to keep the rug looking its best.

Laying a runner on a staircase

On a staircase, how well the runner holds is essential: it must be firmly fixed on every step, with stainless steel staples under the nosing, special adhesive or metal stair rods (the most decorative option). Go for a visible border and avoid very dark tones on a poorly lit staircase, so nobody misses a step. For a flawless fit, calling in a professional remains the safest route.

Strategic colours

These heavily used spaces are bound to pick up a few marks over time. To disguise them for good:
