Bedroom rugs
From a bedside size to a large rug tucked under the bed, so your feet land somewhere warm.
A bedroom rug is the finishing touch that turns your bedroom into a true cocoon: it frames the foot of the bed, softens the sound of footsteps and brings instant comfort the moment you wake.
Our selection covers every size, from a small bedside rug to a large 200×300 cm rug placed under the bed, in styles made for an intimate room: soft shaggy, Berber for a cosy feel, or contemporary plains.
Soft shades of beige, cream, grey and powder pink for a calming atmosphere, or deeper tones for a bedroom with real character. Polypropylene and shaggy polyester textures, or viscose for a silky touch.

Our bedroom rugs
The bedroom rug matters far more than people realise: it softens the mood, warms the room visually and brings real day-to-day comfort, above all first thing in the morning, when bare feet land on something soft instead of a cold floor. Unlike the living room rug, it can afford more softness, a longer pile and quieter, more inward tones, because this is a private space made for rest.
What size for a bedroom rug?
Several layouts work, depending on the floor area and the furniture. Option 1: under the bed. The rug extends 60 to 80 cm beyond the bed on every side, so you always step onto something soft. For a queen bed, allow a 200×300 cm; for a king or a large bedroom, go up to 250×350 cm. Option 2: bedside rugs. Two small rugs, one on each side of the bed (80×150 cm), or one long rug (runner style) laid in front of the bed. Option 3: at the foot of the bed. A 160×230 cm placed crossways, which frames the end of the bed without taking over the room.
Which styles suit a bedroom
The bedroom is where softness and comfort are allowed to win. Long-pile shaggy rugs rule here: nothing else makes getting up feel quite so good. Berber-style rugs create a graphic, natural cocoon. Scandinavian designs, with their pale grounds and pared-back motifs, create a calm, light-filled mood. In a contemporary bedroom, textured plains give you an understated base and let the bedding and the textiles do the talking.
Colours and materials
Bedrooms call for soft, calming tones. Beige, light grey, cream white, dusty pink and sage green create the restful atmosphere that helps you drift off. Deeper tones (midnight blue, taupe, plum) suit a bedroom with more character. On materials, shaggy polyester remains the benchmark for plushness, and polypropylene for easy upkeep. Our wool and Tencel handmade rugs add a touch of luxury at the foot of the bed.
A child's bedroom or an adult's?
In a child's bedroom, go for washable materials and playful motifs. In an adult's, be generous with the dimensions for a hotel feel: an extra-large rug under the bed and the bedside table changes the room instantly.
Choosing your bedroom rug
What size rug should I choose for a bedroom?
What size rug should I choose for a bedroom?
It all depends on the size of your bed and the effect you are after:
- Bed 140 cm: 160×230 cm at the foot of the bed, or 200×300 cm under the bed
- Bed 160 cm (queen): 200×300 cm under the bed, leaving 60 cm showing on each side
- Bed 180/200 cm (king): 250×350 cm minimum, ideally 300×400 cm
- Bedside rugs: two 80×150 cm rugs, one on each side
In every case, the rug should extend at least 50 cm beyond the bed so it is comfortable to step onto.
Shaggy or low pile: which material for a bedroom?
Shaggy or low pile: which material for a bedroom?
The bedroom is THE room where a deep pile shaggy rug truly earns its place. The softness is an incomparable pleasure first thing in the morning, and it absorbs footsteps well. On the other hand, it gathers more dust and is harder to clean. A quality polyester shaggy is ideal for an adult bedroom. For a child's bedroom, or if you have allergies, go for a low pile rug in polypropylene or a machine washable design. Handmade rugs in wool or a wool and viscose blend are a premium, very durable option.
Under the bed or at the foot of the bed: what is the difference?
Under the bed or at the foot of the bed: what is the difference?
Both layouts have their merits. Under the bed, the rug creates a real cocoon: your feet land on something soft every morning, and the room reads as more structured. This option calls for a large size (at least 200×300 cm for a queen bed). At the foot of the bed, the rug frames the end of the bed and marks out the sleeping area while leaving the sides clear, which is handy if your bedside tables are low. A 160×230 cm is usually enough. Bedside runners (one rug on each side) are a classic, budget-friendly alternative, ideal in small bedrooms.
