THE RUG IN DETAIL

NATURAL MATERIALS

A beige chequerboard in curly hand-knotted wool

Everything you see and touch on the rug is sheep's wool. The base threads include a little cotton, simply for strength. There is no glued backing under the rug: the knots show on the back, one by one. The long, curly pile softens the edges of the squares. Fringes at both ends, at one end, or none at all, as you prefer, at no extra cost. Each chequerboard has a look of its own, with very slight variations that are the mark of handmade work.

  • Sheep's wool (100%): a curly, warm wool that feels pleasant under bare feet across the whole chequerboard.
  • Hand-knotted in Morocco: each square is knotted by hand.
  • Made to measure, to the centimetre: you choose the exact size and whether to have fringes.

Your questions about made to measure

The essential answers before ordering your Berber rug

How do I order a rug in my own dimensions?

Enter the width and length you want, to the centimetre, in the configurator. The price appears instantly: it depends on the surface area of your rug. If your dimensions match a standard size, its exact price applies. Your rug is then knotted to your exact dimensions.

Can I choose the fringes?

Yes, at no extra cost: fringes on both ends, on one end or no fringes. You make this choice when ordering, just below the dimensions.

Will my rug look exactly like the photo?

Each piece is knotted by hand, so it is unique: patterns and density may vary slightly from the photo. These small irregularities are the signature of handwork.

How long does delivery take?

Your rug is made after you order and delivered within 3 weeks. Delivery is free and a tracking link is emailed to you when the parcel leaves.

Can I return a made-to-measure rug?

Yes. As across the whole site, you have 30 days after delivery to return your rug, even when made to your dimensions. Returns are free.

How do I care for a wool Berber rug?

Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush to preserve the pile. If there is a stain, blot it straight away with a dry cloth, without rubbing. For a deep clean, entrust it to a professional rug cleaner.

Where does this rug come from?

It is hand-knotted in Morocco, in mostly sheep’s wool on a wool and cotton base, following the craft of Berber rugs.
