THE RUG IN DETAIL

NATURAL MATERIALS

Mustard wool bricks in slight relief

The yellow bricks are sheep's wool, like everything you touch. A little cotton is added to the base threads, for strength. There is no glued backing: the knots stay visible underneath. The pile is short and looped, and the ecru lines are flatter. You decide on the tasselled fringes: at both ends, at one end, or none at all, at no extra cost. Each rug has its own small variations of yellow, proof of handmade work.

  • Sheep's wool (100%): a dense, hard-wearing wool that copes well with heavy foot traffic.
  • Hand-knotted in Morocco: each yellow brick is knotted by hand, between the ecru lines.
  • Made to measure, to the centimetre: the rug is made to the exact size you give us.

Your questions about made to measure

The essential answers before ordering your Berber rug

How do I order a rug in my own dimensions?

Enter the width and length you want, to the centimetre, in the configurator. The price appears instantly: it depends on the surface area of your rug. If your dimensions match a standard size, its exact price applies. Your rug is then knotted to your exact dimensions.

Can I choose the fringes?

Yes, at no extra cost: fringes on both ends, on one end or no fringes. You make this choice when ordering, just below the dimensions.

Will my rug look exactly like the photo?

Each piece is knotted by hand, so it is unique: patterns and density may vary slightly from the photo. These small irregularities are the signature of handwork.

How long does delivery take?

Your rug is made after you order and delivered within 3 weeks. Delivery is free and a tracking link is emailed to you when the parcel leaves.

Can I return a made-to-measure rug?

Yes. As across the whole site, you have 30 days after delivery to return your rug, even when made to your dimensions. Returns are free.

How do I care for a wool Berber rug?

Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush to preserve the pile. If there is a stain, blot it straight away with a dry cloth, without rubbing. For a deep clean, entrust it to a professional rug cleaner.

Where does this rug come from?

It is hand-knotted in Morocco, in mostly sheep’s wool on a wool and cotton base, following the craft of Berber rugs.
